New Diploma Programs Launched at SIAHS

SIAHS is pleased to announce the launch of its two specialized diploma programs:

Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician (2 years, Full-time - FSc Equivalent)

The program is designed to prepare students to play a vital role in supporting eye examinations, diagnostic procedures, and overall clinical care within hospitals, private clinics, and community outreach initiatives. It emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring that students develop the competence and confidence required to contribute effectively to diverse healthcare environments. Through structured training, students are exposed to the essentials of ophthalmic care, enabling them to bridge the gap between patients and practitioners in meaningful ways.

Graduates of the program acquire the ability to perform critical tasks such as vision testing, patient preparation, and the handling and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments. These skills not only enhance the efficiency of clinical workflows but also contribute directly to improving patient experiences and outcomes. Diploma in Dispensing Optician (2 years, Full-time)

The program focuses on training individuals in the specialized skills required to interpret optical prescriptions, accurately fit and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, and provide informed guidance on a wide range of vision aids. It combines classroom learning with practical training, ensuring that students develop a strong foundation in both the technical and interpersonal aspects of opticianry. By emphasizing precision, attention to detail, and patient-centered care, the program aims to produce graduates capable of delivering high-quality optical services in a variety of professional settings.
